ABOUT
My work involves looking through windows into situations where people are unaware that they are being watched. I take photographs of these situations and compose them into paintings – with my subjects’ consent. What sparked my interest into this area was my own privacy concerns.
I use gouache on wasli in order to create compositions, some of which are structured windows while others are clutters of unstructured perspectives. The architecture of the spaces that I visit somewhat influences how I compose my miniatures. Furthermore, human behaviour varies across the areas I explore, signifying the way that socioeconomic background and culture influence how people live in the permanence of their homes.
